Chinese whispers... round 2

Hitting 1st February not only means that we're already through 1/12th of our year but it's time to receive and pass on our Chinese Whispers layout, organised by Rebekah Day on the ScrapaGoGo CH.

This time around there are three teams, I receive from one Ally and ironically pass onto a different Ally!

Here's the one I received...

I love the photo... it depicts Ally's take on life, always good for a giggle and full of fun and spirit xxx

Not one for scrapping large photos, I emulated Ally's large photo with a decorative panel of smaller photos and embellishments.

The polaroid style photo was taken on a weekend away at Toad Hall. Jackie Ashton has the cool idea that once developed, we could all have our photos taken whilst holding our photo at arms length...

It made for a great image and a superb title "genius idea".

To echo Ally's cluster of embellishments at the top, I used liquid acrylic to drip down the page, misting while the paint was still wet.

I can't help but cut the mot intricate things out of my papers and this layout was no exception!

Looking forward to Round 3 already, and our next visit to Toad Hall...

I've got some news...

And no it isn't that I'm eating for two or anything like that...!!!

I've been asked to join the lovely Pencillines DT team, hooray...

This was my DT submission based on the sketch

I am really pleased to have been asked, and being on Pencillines will be so different to being on the fabulous ScrapaGoGo DT team...

Being on these two DT teams, I reckon I've got the best of both worlds!

And my final ScrapaGoGo classes....

My last class on Saturday was called 'Layered Lovelies' and boy was there some layering!

Using traditional decoupage as a starting point, we created a set of unique hybrids to create 3D blooms and butterflies. After a serious amount of cutting, the end result was well worth it and the ladies layouts were stunning...

I love to see the finished results, especially if I get chance to have a mosey at the photos each lady is using on her layout - they are always such different images, each working equally as well!

'Set Sail" was my final class at the ScrapaGoGo retreat. Remember vellum, I'm sure you'll have some in your stash.... well with this class you'd love it again!

The photos were taken on Crosby beach, where the famous 100 Andrew Gormley statues reside... what an amazing place. I twisted Harvey's arm to visit it this Summer, having read about it on Kirsty Wiseman's blog... and it didn't disappoint!

Note to self... must visit the Angel of the North!

Why do we do it?

They say the best cure for a hangover is a "hare of the dog" (is it the animal kind or the hairs on your head?)
Anyway, I digress! The best cure for a hangover is discovering that two people have already left comments on my post of yesterday, so hurray, my average life may indeed be interesting to others LOL x
So back to the authors. Great to hear from you Erica, the last time I saw you was at the GoGo retreat. My other comment was made by the lovely Dinah, one of GoGo's latest DT members, can't wait to see your creations xxx
So after nursing a slight hangover my day has been slightly dull. I hate not to accomplish anything constructive, especially as I feel on countdown back to work already!

On another note, must get this gorgeous skin ordered for my new ipad - big thanks to Zoe Ablett for pointing me in its direction xxx
